Fuel Line
6.0 LQ4 and stock everything in a 57 panel truck.
Whats everyone generally doing for fuel line and fittings ? Im guessing for 300HP that -6AN (3/8) together with a few adapter firttings like 3/8 line is the inlet https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-644123 5/16 is the return https://www.summitracing.com/parts/rus-644113 Seems to be a huge variation in lines and fittings - any recommendations from what you used on your project ?

Re: Fuel Line
Thanks.
Just wondering what the difference is mainly. $59 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Braided-3-8...jf:rk:128:pf:0 $240 with a $40 fuel filter/reg https://www.summitracing.com/parts/t...it45/overview/

Re: Fuel Line
make sure to use the "PTFE" hose. it holds up better than other stainless hoses

So .... seems like I have a returnless fuel rail. Pic. I think its simple enough ..... basically fuel pump out to corvette regulator which pressurises to ~58 psi as it passes through to fuel rail. If it sees pressure build it dumps back to the tank vi the return at the regulator. What confuses me a little is .... 1) Some threads where they say in a returnless system fuel is controlled by ECM as well ...... but that wont happen here right ? 2) Discussions where the FPR in a OEM setup is either on nthe tank or in the fuel rail itself. Not sure. Obviously I wont have 1 in the tank with my tanksinc walbro pump ...... but will have the regulator on the truck trail somewhere. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-03-0263 Anyone clarify 1+ 2 a bit better for me ? Probably misunderstanding

Re: Fuel Line
I used AN fittings from fuel rail down the transmission to the frame. From there i used dorman nylon fuel line and stock ptc gm fitting. Cheap quality lines

Re: Fuel Line
ive seen several builds here where the owner is using the plastic hardline....also some use metal lines...MP&C is using all stainless tube on the wagon...its just much easier on me to run the -6 stainless flex....being flexible its easier to route it around stuff...

Re: Fuel Line
I used -6 an from my tank to the frame rail where I mounted the regulator/filter then hard line up to the fuel rail and used another short -6 an line. I even covered my hard line with DEI protective sleeve near the exhaust.

Re: Fuel Line
I always thought when the pump built up pressure and deadheaded that it shut off...but Eric (ls1nova)says the ecm turns the pump on for x number of seconds when the switch is turned on and then shuts it off till you crank....so I'm going with what he said...best I can tell your rail is returnless...
1vs2...on a returnless rail system the fpr is in the tank and will have a single fuel line to the engine On a return rail system the fpr is at the fuel rail and the engine will have 2 fuel lines from the tank to the rail...one pressure and one return.. If your using a intank pump with no bypass then you'll need to run the vett style reg ...and when plumbing it up keep In mind the pressure side is the outer fitting....

http://www.tanksinc.com/index.cfm/pa...rod/prd609.htm and this filter/regulator on the frame https://www.summitracing.com/parts/CMB-03-0263 So the plumbing side is failry self evident (appreciate the info though) ...... but there is no ECM control of the pump. Thats the part that throws me. So anything need to be disabled etc in ECM ? Basically just lose that funcionaility that ls1nova talks about above ? It will pump on power on and just self regulate at ~58psi.

Re: Fuel Line
On mine I used a psi harness that came with all the wiring and a fuse block...in the fuse block is where my pump gets its power from...this is controlled by the ecm...

Re: Fuel Line
*doh* - didnt think of it like that - was thinking of it as a subharness run that goes to the pump - like a special connector etc

Re: Fuel Line
I think you're just overthinking this. The PCM will turn the pump on, but it wont regulate it in any way. How the truck the engine came out of was plumbed is irrelevant if you're plumbing it like an early 2000's Corvette, which is the easiest way to do it , so that's why swaps are done that way.Plumb the Vette filter and let the PCM turn the pump on.

Re: Fuel Line
What are most people doing with the fuel purge solenoid.
Blockoff ? I'll have two vents on fuel tank (1 to above fuel fill intake and other in tank with line vent routed above frame). Not sure if I need a 3rd ...... but then again ......

Re: Fuel Line
They sell delete plates. I just put a bolt through a teardrop piece of metal, welded it, and rounded off the threading to make a nub.
