Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
Trying to track down a visor (possibly) but have only found some ugly bulky ones. Seeing if anyone knows where to find one or if anyones got a used one? Thanks in advance. Its an idea right now, not necessarily a must have unless I find the right one.

Re: Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
I'm in the same boat. These items are difficult to find. I only have seen a few in the last few years on C-list and wished that I jumped on one of them. I prefer the fiberglass one that was made by Lund, but here is a place that makes an older looking version...
http://www.classictruckconsoles.com/...fiberglass.htm COP3 and 12007 are Lund part numbers that I have found during my research, but I can not entirely back up their validity as I have never got my hands on one. They are expensive when you find a used one (2-$300)and being old and fiberglass, they typically have some cracks and/or a few layers of paint which makes it hard to buy without actually inspecting it in person. I believe Lund used the following names for some of their models... Lighted version was moonvisor, unlighted was sunvisor, curved lighted was lunarvisor, and curved unlighted was solarvisor. For me, it's more work to do to the truck, they have a reputation to add to the cab noise, I don't like the idea of drilling holes in my cab, most folks think they are "hillbilly", but I still like them for some reason. Good hunting!

Re: Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
This was installed on my 1967 stepper many years ago. I just repainted the entire truck, and haven't put the visor back on. The picture with it installed is prior to painting.
Never seen one for sale but here in arizona there are C10 parts coming up on Craigslist all the time. I will reach out to you if I see one for sale. |

Re: Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
Those new ones shown in the link, that curve down, are replicas of the "Supervisors" frpm back in the '70s van era. I had one on the '71 wrecker I had. I think they go with the body design well and are era-correct for sure. I always felt the Lund visors were designed for late-70s Fords, which is when they came out. If you search real hard you might find the best looking one made that was steel. Made by J&J enterprises and was available in primed steel or polished stainless

Im not a huge fan as I think its matches the 40-50s era much better with the round curves. I perdonally think our trucks have straighter lines, but I may try it out. This is a truck in my area, but havent had a chance to ask him
About his visor, may need to make a point to do so. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
I agree, never put one on a truck. But it's different with dual rear one tons. Those are little big rigs and most all big rigs today run visors. That was the look I was after when I bought that J & J one for a '70 CST/30 with utility body, but it would have needed to be cut to clear the clearance lights which would be through the louvered area. The Supervisor made the look on my wrecker for the bye-gone shop wrecker custom in it's time vibe it had... faded red paint, old chrome Budd wheels, bed rails, and all. View from inside was awesome. Gave a big rig hefty duty rig feel looking out under it. Pictures don't show, but I pulled those Kmart mirrors off and installed Jr west coasts with three chevron stripes. Put the OEM round tail lamps on the tower, too. Holes were in the wrecker body floor from stacks at one point. I had plans to run chrome stacks as well. Which I never would do on a pickup
Heading to Buffalo, NY with new owner. Good side view Top view

Re: Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
Yeah, visors and wide whitewalls are '50s-back style along with fender skirts and chop tops. But trucks are different. For me, I don't look to alter the body or looks on a classic truck that has a style that has stood the test of time... the reason so many eyes have turned to them in the 21st century. Isn't it the body style the reason for LS swaps? I mean GM builds nice trucks that already have LSs in them you can buy new or used.
Little River, Ey? I was once very familiar with that area. Sea Mountain Hwy down to N Myrtle Beach and up to Calabash, Cherry Grove Beach, OD, etc. My in laws lived there, but no longer in laws since '06

Re: Visor (exterior part over top windshield)
They didn't look good back in the 70's and today they're still a bad idea .
