Oil Pressure sender block off behind intake manifold.

Dumb question.
I have noticed an oil leak from my un-used oil pressure sending unit behind the intake manifold.
I would like to just remove it and use a bolt/plug to put in it's place.
As long as it is an M16 1.5 bolt should work right?
I was looking at this:

It should work but I'd put a copper washer under it like the drain plug uses

It's funny how you second guess yourself when it comes to your own ride.
I figured it would work, just wanted to make sure there was not a reason not to use this.

Looks like your'e getting 2 in the box for $13. I agree on the copper or aluminum crush washer used on import trucks.

If you in a hurry, you could cut the top off, drill, tap with NPT, then install a brass fitting with a little pipe dope. That way you can drive it until the flying drone shows up on the front porch. But, you have found a decent better looking option on the big A.

Also, the old school oil sender socket works great, same size. At least my SnapOn one does.

Being curious, is it leaking at the bakelite plastic top, where it's crimped into the metal base? A good flash light and a mirror on a stick would tell for sure. Anythings possible when it come to leaks.

I have three different "UV" lights and a case of "UV" oil dye. But that's how I roll because it's just sitting there on the self.

You may want to clean with a spray of cleaner, start, run and re-check...

This is what I did when mine started leaking years ago, works perfect. Generally they will leak through the sender where the plug attaches and will seep over time, but without anything plugged into it you notice it a lot sooner!
