68 C20 cab/f-clip to a 83 C30 running gear
Hello,
I've got a 68 C20 farm truck with an average body, inline 6, 4sp, 2wd, that I'd like to swap onto an 83 C30 454, 4sp, 2wd. Would this be a major headache swap or would it be a fairly easy idea to pull off? I'm planning to build a new flat bed to go on it so the 68 bed won't be a problem. I looked around but most of what I found was music videos or somebody explaining his plans and aspirations, but nothing about what problems they did or didn't have to over come. I'm sure this has been done. Richard

I'd put the front suspension cradle and running gear on your 68 frame. Use the booster/master/prop valve from the 83. Most all of this should bolt up.
