1963 C10 Original Brakes

Can anyone tell me a manual dual master cylinder that will work with my 63 c10? Will the one for a 69 fit??. I want to keep the original brakes for now since they are in good shape, but I would like to go ahead and put a dual master cylinder in. I called Classic Industries and they were no help. Put me on hold for a while and asked the other guys even!

I'm pretty sure that you can use a m/cylinder from a '67-'70 C-10, but you'll have to plumb the new line for the front and split the lines to tie it all together. Check the 60-66 faq link and look in the brake section: lots of good info for doing what you're wanting to do.

Shouldn't be that hard. There is a junction that splits to front and back down on the frame. Thanks for the advice to head me in the right direction.

the '67-'70 truck master cylinders are all for 4 wheel drum brakes and will bolt right up to a '63-'66 firewall. There is thread info in the FAQ section all about doing this.

Wow! I looked at the video on how to do the conversion to the dual master cylinder. Doesn't look too bad. Does anyone sell the brake line tubing already properly bent? I would definitely pay for that!

You might try looking at the 67 - 70 C-10's and see if the brake lines from that era truck might fit the 60 - 66 era trucks. The reason I say this is because when I converted my 64 to Disc brakes I used EVERYTHING from the donor 73 C-10. All the brake lines fit Almost perfectly. I did have to tweak them ever so slightly but the finished product makes the set up was made for our trucks. Of course I couldn't leave well enough alone and even grafted in a 73 Power Disc Brake Pedal & a suspended gas pedal. I swear these trucks are Never Done.
