Pinion seal
So i changed the seal on my rear end last year and it still sprays diff fluid all over the underside of the bed. I am thinking to replace the yoke. If that’s the right term. Will this work? How do i know which one to get? How do i hold the fluid from pouting out during the match up? I will also replace the seal again.
Thanks Chris

Re: Pinion seal
i also add some rtv on the splines and the washer before it gets put on the pinion before the nut . gear oil can sometimes creep up the splines and around the washer and sling around .

Re: Pinion seal
What about the crush sleeve and rotational torque when swapping the yoke?..

Re: Pinion seal
Don’t want to swap the yoke. Just looking for opinion on the seal and mating surface. Changed the seal once already and still leaking

Re: Pinion seal
Sorry, had my parts mixed up. The yoke is what I am looking to replace. You dont have to pull the crush sleeve when pulling the yoke. Had it off to replace the seal lat year. That is the question at hand. I replaced the seal and still leaks. will replacing the yoke solve my problem? Could that be worn where the seal sits? or what else could be my problem. Frame off restoration, so the bottom is clean and there is lube sprayed on the bottom of the bed at the front seal.

Re: Pinion seal
Did the yoke have a wear groove in it when you changed the seal?is there any play in the pinion?

Re: Pinion seal
I would try a speedi-sleeve on the yoke you have, and a new seal.
