Corvette pedal issues
Hey guys, I took my truck to the tuners yesterday and we are having issues with some mis-matched components on my frankentruck. I wanted to document the issues and hopefully get some input for future builds.
Swap is a 09 LY6 6.0 (bone stock), howell harness, 08' truck ecm (base file), 04 4l60e, 05-13 DBW corvette pedal The issue is the vette pedal and truck ecm/throttle body are not jiving. Throttle spuders out after half way. The truck pedal and vette pedal have the same voltage outputs but the sweep is different to the throttle body. The tune shop says that I'll have to take the truck to a dealership and up load a corvette base file on the ecm with a vin# (gm copyright) then they will be able to dial the truck in. I'm scheduled tomorrow at the dealership then back to the tuner Friday. Is there anything we are missing here? Thanks, Curt

Re: Corvette pedal issues
Is your harness setup to run with the truck or vette pedal? There is a wiring difference between the two.

Re: Corvette pedal issues
The harness was set up for the truck pedal initially but I swapped the two needed wires for the vette pedal.

Re: Corvette pedal issues
Got the truck to the GM service center to flash the ecm with a corvette base file. Now I can say it has a corvette motor We'll see how this works out

Re: Corvette pedal issues
Well, turns out I can't mix apples and oranges on this setup. Was really wanting to run the vette pedal but the compatibility with the truck components just won't fly. Going to install the donor truck pedal and be done snipe hunting in the dark. Hopefully it will fix the throttle response issue and move foward with wrapping up the tune.

Re: Corvette pedal issues
I wonder if the pedal is the issue or if something else is going on. Its puzzling as several people have ran that style pedal as a swap. Should be interesting to see if everything is ok with the truck pedal.
Also since I'm posting I wanted to say I read through your build, it looks nice. I really took notice to your findings on door weatherstrip, I might have to try that swap myself. |

Re: Corvette pedal issues
Would the corvette reflash put back all the stuff you needed to remove - VATS, etc.?

Thankfully the dealership couldn't burn in the corvette file because the vette vin# was invalid. I need to run a 08 truck base because I have a 04' 4l60e that requires a separate TCM that talks to the ecm (insert Johnny Cash song) Had I ran the 09' 4l80e it would have been possible with some part/sensor changes because the 09 doesn't require the tcm. Big lesson learnt here is the easiest way to do a swap is all the parts from one vehicle
