How to: 1998 DBW Diesel Pedal in Square Body w/2004 TAC moduel/harness.

Well, after 3 years of having the 1998 Diesel pedal and searching everywhere for directions on how to wire it up I got it figured out.

I had seen directions that say you have to move around 3 wires, but was never sure what those wires did and didn't want to take a chance.

Then I saw this video a week ago:

This one said to only move one wire.

So what I found out is this: The 2004 DBW pedal has 2 sensors in it. The 1998 Diesel pedal has 3. you only have to use two of the sensors in the 1998 Diesel pedal.

To use the Diesel pedal you need to supply a ground/low reference to
sensor 1. This is what moving the brown wire from E to A does.

On sensor 2, the 5v reference and ground/low reference wires are backwards. You do NOT have to swap those wires. Just like a light switch, as long as the sensor has + and - going to it, it will give you a signal from the reference wire.

Once the wire is moved, then I took a box cutter and made a small notch in the plastic connector to slide into the grove on the pedal.

Once all this is done the Diesel pedal will bolt into the stock location on your firewall and is in the perfect spot!

Here is a video of my pedal working:
