POL LS engine mounts...
Figured posting here might get bit more traction.
Anyway got a set of these for a ‘72 build I’m doing and fit is awful. Holes don’t line up, welded crooked and lower plate sits up about 1/8-1/4” off the crossmember in either the 6 or V8 I’m using the 6 position in that makes a difference. Anybody else have problems or did I just get Monday morning/Friday afternoon pair? Hoping these would save time over building a set but that’s gone now. I’ll post a few pix when I get to a desktop |

When I put the LS1 in my '67 Panel Truck I used the POL frame brackets. Same problem only my passenger side was 1/2" above the frame rail. Elongated the holes and cut the bracket. After I had everything bolted together I tack welded the bracket, took it back out, and welded it up. A guy shouldn't have to go through all of that on new parts but I digress..... LockDoc

I deal with numerous companies into the $1000s on orders and the sh*t they pass off as good is mind boggling. Then when you question them, its your fault. Truck is bent Frame is bent You did it wrong...blah blah blah THEN want you to send it back on your dime after you just over paid to have their screw up shipped to you. Zero quality control or customer service. When I make stuff, its fits or it does not leave my shop. OK off my soap box... |

it always amazes me how these companies market stuff to be the answer to all your problems and you spend hundreds to thousands of your hard earned dollars to find you need to be a fabricator as well as a mechanic and sometimes an engineer .

Re: POL LS engine mounts...
I used these as well and when I bolted them on I realized I had the 2 on the wrong sides! Had all the same issues. . Make sure you have them on the correct sides.

Re: POL LS engine mounts...
After 30yrs build trucks & cars, I got LH and RH figured out. haha!
Jokes aside there is only one way these can go. Kinda like your shoes. Only go one way unless you're 3! OK now jokes really aside.. Heres some pix...clamped them to one of my welding stands so both were on same level plane... ![]() ![]() And the bottom plate at crossmember. ![]() The one that looks straight actually has the lower plate welded off by 1/8 too Last edited by Irish1941; 05-21-2019 at 11:45 PM. |

Re: POL LS engine mounts...
This is all crazy! I used the same stands back when I did my swap in 2012. Mine fit and lined up perfectly. That was one of the reasons I always highly recommended these. I can't believe the quality has gone downhill that much! They must've found someone to make them cheaper.

Re: POL LS engine mounts...
I went with early classic mounts and they were the exact same way. They told me to just tighten them down and they should be fine. I sent them back and they returned them no problem. I ended up with CPP mounts and they fit the frame perfect.
