fuel system questions
About to do a LS swap on my truck and had a couple questions.
I'll be using the complete fuel line from the donor, 88 wrangler tank, 92 s10 fuel sender. How do I go from the threaded style fitting to the quick connect style? There are 4 connections at the fuel sender. 1 supply, 1 return... What are the other two connected to? Vent? |

your showing 2 diff ones but I assume your talking the one on the left...
small one would be the vent ,,,the other may be the fill tube vent..but I'm not certain..does the wrangler tank have a fitting for the fill tube vent? on the fuel fittings I figured out how to get from one to the other but itll take a couple of fitting to do it..going o-ring to -an..then -an to pushlock.. didn't find a single fitting to do it..maybe someone that has actually done this may have a better answer....

Thank you. You are correct, I was asking about the sender with the threaded fittings.
The jeep tank looks to have a filler neck vent and other vents as well. |

I have the setup you are doing. You need to "play" with 3 vents (2 on sender, 1 on tank) and figure out the right combo to get the gas pump to shut off on you. I have the vent on the filler hooked up to the vent on the tank, I have that large vent on the S10 sender plugged, and the small vent on the S10 sender open. With the large vent on the S10 sender open, I would overfill at the pump. You basically have an extra vent to the filler as the S10 has it in the sender and the wrangler has it in the tank.
For the other question, I do not know...I ran 3' of stainless line off the threaded ends of the sender to hard line but I am sure you can convert with fittings as Mongo suggested. Speedway has a ton of oddball fittings.

Oh, also, the tiny vents on the Wrangler tank I just took a piece of rubber hose and looped those. You could cap the small sender vent and leave these open I assume as well.

Lastly, I really like this setup a lot. For the price, it was very effective and fit nicely.

I'm looking at rock auto and I see four different fuel senders for the s10.
Which works best with this tank? The first three looks to have different wiring for a 20gal tank. The last is for a 13 gal tank. Also which fuel filler did you use? |

hello to all. I used this fuel tank for my LSx swap. I used sending unit FG05N. Just for giggles you also weld on AN adapter bungs. The tank fits between the frame rail like a glove. I mounted fuelp pump AC Delco EP381. Good luck.

I used FG03A as well, reads properly and fits a EP381 if you are going LS. If not just put a fuel safe rubber hose to the bottom of the tank rather than a fuel pump. I used the 88-91 Wrangler filler so the hoses matched the tank inlets and it is also the smallest filler I have seen with the 1" fill hose, I got mine at a junkyard. Everyone says it pumps terribly slow but I have never noticed and I put a boatload of miles on my truck so I stop frequently.

The little one farther forward is no problem removing it. The very rear crossmember however should stay there or be replaced with a crossmember at the very end of the frame.

I didn't remove either of those, only the tire holder mechanism in the middle and then cut into that support (that the tire holder is on) to put the tank further up. Mine started as a LWB so it may be different. The front one should be able to be removed or moved forward if it is in the way. The back one is more important.

It is baffled and it matters if you are running a drop in pump to prevent starvation and burning the pump up. This is one of the main reasons I went with this tank as I am using a EP381 fuel pump in the tank. Some people run drop ins and just make sure they fill up at 1/4 tank but I didn't want to worry about that as I am not that diligent.

Any idea where I can get a 90 degree reducing elbow? I can't find anything. I've looked everywhere.
1 inch at tank, 1.5 inches at fuel neck. 90 degree bend to hole in bed. |
