72 k20 wiring help needed
I am repairing the wiring on my new to me 72 k20 and cannot find some of the info i need on two wires. I found the wiring diagrams on here, but they don't really answer my question. On the cab bulkhead, engine side, there is a black/white tracer wire and a black wire right next to the main power feed for the fuse block. My truck had those two wires cut and taped up near the voltage regulator. From what i see on the diagram, it appears they both should be fused and basically go to the battery positive lead. Anyone know what they actually power? Thank you.

I think the blk/wht and black wires you're seeing are for the factory ammeter gauge in the gauge cluster. Basically they measure current output of the battery side vs alternator output and the gauge needle leans toward the side with the greater output.

Thank you, that actually makes sense, the truck had an aftermarket ammeter in it for some reason. Im just going to remove both wires, I removed the aftermarket gauge already, and I am wiring the alternator and battery up differently anyway. I'll end up installing a volt gauge at some point.
