Need Rear Leaf Spring Bushings - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Ok...I give up.

Does anybody have a source for the rear leaf spring bushings on a '72 GMC Jimmy.

I would think this would be a pretty easy find, but apparently they're extremely rare.

I've been to several auto parts stores. The ones through Summit as well as other sources, say they'll fit, but the dimensions aren't anywhere near what I need.

The dimensions for the bushing are with a 1.5" circumference, and 3" in length. Pretty sure it's a 5/8" bushing in the center to accept a 9/16" bolt.

I've looked at Moog, Delco, Dayton etc...

I need a total of six of these bushings.

Yea, that may work.

I have been looking for the original rubber encased in a steel sleeve. I really didn't wish to go with an aftermarket polyurethane.

I spent a fair amount of time debating and researching urethane va rubber and I ended up with urethane. At low humidity rubber is better because urethane dries out faster and can squeal when dry. At higher humidity levels urethane offers better performance and longevity. Since I live in 60 percent humidity I went with urethane.

I stopped at the local O'Rielly's today (2nd time).

Had another guy go over and above just looking at the computer screen.

He was able to find a Moog part based upon my dimensions.

If it works, I'll update with the part number from Moog.

OK...For those who wish to keep the original rubber encased by steel bushings, the part number is K200802, and they are manufactured by MOOG.

As much as I don't patronize O'Rielly's too much, it was an employee there who was able to finally find something that would work.

After looking up the part number, it looks like these are for a 90's Cadillac and GMC.

Kind of crazy, but I have them in hand, and they will work.
