S10 frame swap - 14x6 wheel size, will . . . . .
Im new to Chevys, new to the S10 swap
I have a 49 AD going on a 83 S10 frame From what i've been reading it seems that its good to run a wide wheel, some spacers or some reversed. If i run some 14x6's will i have to run some 2" spacers ? - If so, is this ok ?, will it give me enough track width ? Thank you much L |

14s will fit standard brakes, if you have done the blazer dual piston upgrade you will need 15s. I have heard that 14" steels made for drum brakes wont fit but I havent ever seen that problem. 14x6 doesnt give us the offset but I bet they will be 3.5" backspace. a 2" spacer would work well for that.

Re: S10 frame swap - 14x6 wheel size, will . . . . .
It's the backspacing on the wheel and not the width that is critical on clearance. Back spacing as in deeper reverse.
I've got a mid 70's Nova rear under my 48 and it is quite a bit wider than the two wheel drive S 10 rear and stock wheels cause a tire to rub the bed on the back while a reverse wheel with not near the backspacing depth clears ok. If you must have spacers get them from these guys who make them in the US out of solid Billet and will make them to order if a special size is needed. https://www.uswheeladapters.com/ the Ebay cheapies might break.

Late to the party, I have 14" steel wheels that were original to my 84 cutlass on mine with a two inch spacer on the front and since im running a 4wd blazer rear, a 1' spacer on the rear. They land right where you want them to be for the "skinny tire look". My wheels should be very similar to the nova ones you have.
