Hard top questions rear side bolt size
The brackets in the rear that hold the top to very rear by the tailgate. What is the thread size of the bolts that are supposed to be there. I cant tell by looking and I need to chase the threads with a thread restorer as other than the front there is nothing holding the top on.
My Blazer originally had a single wall top. I went to take a bolt out so I could install longer bolts and hold the top off the body so the body guy could adjust the windshield frame to door gaps without the top affecting those gaps. When I looked under the bed rail there are the captive nuts for a single wall and absolutely nothing but the front bolts holding it on.

Re: Hard top questions rear side bolt size
With rare exception it seems 72k5s all had provisions to accommodate a single wall top even though those assembled in St Louis, such as yours, all had double wall tops. Some early Flint assembled 72s also had 2x tops.

Do you know the rear bolt size that goes outward into the bed sides?

Re: Hard top questions rear side bolt size
The holes for a 2x top should also be there unless filled in. My St Louis had a 2x wall but I swapped it for a 1x wall and made use of the caged nuts in place on the oem bedsides.
I can check bolt size this afternoon against a spare when my toddler is down for a nap. Did my text come through and does your phone receive photos?

I know the bolt size from the bed up to the top 5/16-18 IIRC. Not sure of the ones that go through the bracket that also has the lift latch bolted to it. The bottom hole that bolts the very back of the top horizontally to the bed sides.

Re: Hard top questions rear side bolt size
Harnesses. Complete for 72 blazer w gauges.
Couple of missing end connectors but I probably have spares if your existing harnesses lack these ends.

Re: Hard top questions rear side bolt size
All bolts for the rear mounting bracket are 5/16 coarse. The mounting bolts for the struts are 1/4 coarse.
