Re: Cool truck
Great looking truck. I was trying to figure out what event I saw it at.

I noticed the same thing and wondered if the cab was widened.

Re: Cool truck
ok, after seeing this truck I went out & compared it to mine.
Here's what I see: the cab has been channeled over the frame. not sure that the cab has been widened. The top has been chopped and the rear window raised to match the tops of the doors. there is no filler between the running board and the bed. looks like the bed sides have been extended down to meet the running boards. Looks like the front edge of the rear fender has been shortened to match the rear. Looks like the hood has been pancaked. The headlights have been peaked. the stake pockets have been molded in , the rears wrap around to meet the rear roll pan. there's probably much more that ive missed but any way you "slice it" that's a lot of work. but it definately changes the look without spoiling the original design. I like it. |

Re: Cool truck
Looks like the body has had a couple inches taken out of the height and 1 grill bar removed also.

Re: Cool truck
It does looked Sectioned along with the chop. There is far more work in that truck than your eye catches at first glance.
I've seen a couple that had the fenders raised on the cab to give the sectioned look with only the hood being actually sectioned.

Re: Cool truck
Heres a pic and some Info from the 30th annual Pacific northwest nationals...
Making the road trip from Eugene, Oregon, Ron and Lois Beard’s 1948 Chevy pickup has a chop top and a serious, in-the-weeds hunkered stance. The running gear consists of a 327-inch V8 engine and a 700R4 automatic transmission.

Re: Cool truck
That dash is gorgeous! And some serious pie-cutting done on that hood!

Re: Cool truck
nice job on the hood section and keeping good proportions, chopping the AD top makes the body tall and the nose too 'roman'.

Re: Cool truck
It rather sounded like the writer had never heard of S-10 swaps before.
At first look i didn't think it had a 5 inch chop. Photos can be deceiving though. At any rate it is one nice truck with some nice ideas in it.

Re: Cool truck
Just rolling here, looks like a 4" chop, a 3-4" section and simply lowered so much that the bottoms of the fenders are shortened with the running boards being removed. The left the front of the fenders stock and raised the front bumper eliminating the lower grille bar.

Re: Cool truck
I saw that truck at the Goodguys in Pleasanton California a few years ago. It is a beauty for sure!
