Try changing the color quality.

Right click anywhere on your desktop and then go down you properties and click on that.

Click on the setting tab and then down on the right it will say color quality. If it is set at 16 bit, try changing it to something higher, like 32 or 64.

Give that a shot.

Hope this may help.

If your card was going out, it most likely not work at all. This looks like a setting problem.

I agree with 72SuperBB, it's probably a setting problem. A bad card would probably show nothing at all.

Try what he suggested, or do what I always suggest when friends come to me with their Windows problems...I tell them to buy a Mac!

I, respectfully, disagree. Your monitor is toast. You can have it repaired, but a new one won't cost much more.

Your referring to the gray bar in the middle of the screen, right?

I had problems with my video card, not exactly the same as yours, but anyway it was cheap and easy to put in.

if you are refering the the bar in the middle of the screen and you have replaced the monitor then it is very likelythe video cards RAM going bad. When the video ram starts to go bad you will start to see little black dots appearing ont he screen. and you can like move a windows oevr the top and it will clear them away. but they keep reappearing. If you have tried and changing resolution then and it still does not work then you should try replacing the video card. But I would liek ( if possible) a better picture of the problem.

Did your try the video quality setting change. I have seen this thing happen and that is usually the problem. Please let us know so everyone can rule things out. This is a simple thing to try before opening up your computer and replacing things.
