4.8/5.3 to 91 5 speed.
I have a disassembled 91 gmc RCLB 4.3 5spd. Contemplating swapping to 5.3 or 4.8. Cruiser daily. Is this doable?
Is there a post containing parts lists? Engine mounts Harness. Is there a pin out to combine and keep all gauges etc working? I know trans isn't best.. I just want a daily that is not a v6 |

I assume you have a nv3500..? But putting a LS in front of it wont be cheap...you may be better off getting a complete engine/trans pullout and swapping to a auto...
The gauges are Independent of the LS harness.. Not sure on engine mounts, but I bet they're out there for a s10

Re: 4.8/5.3 to 91 5 speed.
I dont have a parts list but off the top of my head, you will need a flywheel for a 2001 or so standard shift silverado, the pressure plate and clutch from your truck will work on the flywheel but you will have to remove an alignment dowel. You will need a ls7 pilot bearing for the extended pilot bearing that is available from summit racing. As for the mounts, you can use dirty dingo sliders for the ls swap. On the speedo, keep the wire pigtail from your original harness and it can be spliced into the ls harness to pins 20 and 21 on the red or green connector from a silverado harness. And pin 50 on the red or green connector will go to your speedometer. You can cut your harness down yourself using lt1swap.com using his pinouts and all the gauges in your truck will work flawlessly if hooked up correctly. For oil pressure, save the original sensor from the v6 and get an adapter to fit it to the ls block, for the temp, I use a 98 fbody camaro or transam sender, part number 12551708. This is a 3 wire sensor, 2 wires go to the computer and the third goes to the gauge. That is the simplest way I know to get it to work. The volt gauge should just work. Send your computer out to Brendan at lt1swap.com for a vats delete and you should be good to go. Thats the basics of it and the cheapest way I know to get you up and going on a ls swap.
