62 C30 Rear Suspension Question

So I got a 62 C30 Dually with an Utility Body on it.

I´d like to lower it and I´ll go with a 83 Front Suspension. That way i´m getting rid of the Torsion Bars.

Now to the rear.. its a Dually Axle with Leaf Springs.
Is there anykind of Flip Kit or Bag Kit for Dually axles? All I can find is for the single wheel application.
I´d like to either lower it around 5-7" or get a bag kit

You probably can do a flip kit which should drop it about 4”

I would look for a spring company in your area for the mounts and ubolts

Doing an axle flip on a dually will likely lower the rear a bit more than 4". I would thing going with air ride would get you where you want to be easier than messing around with leaf springs. You would likely have to build the majority of the mounts and arms. You could use the front spring hangers as an attachment point for the lower arms. I have seen similar kits for the squarebodies.

You‘re probably right.. but Airride exceeds my fabrication skills and I‘m new to designing suspension stuff. Thats why I‘d like to buy a Kit from somewhere..
Also an Airride would be quite difficult since German Inspections are pretty hard to pass with fabbed up stuff..
I will need to think alot about the rear axle setup..

I've messed around with leaf springs on a previous truck (Nissan Hardbody), which included relocating the front leaf mounts, relocating the rear leaf mounts, blocks, and de-arcing the leaf pack. If I were to do it all again, I would have gone 4-link and air.

My '61 will be truck arms and air. I'm learning, eh?!

x2. I would think a square-body axle/flip kit w/bolt on frame mounts might be arranged/placed for the correct drop.

Or, 3/4 ton 67-72's also came in the truck arm arrangement & used coils so something like that might be a better option for these circumstances (limited fab skills; legal/inspections; bolt-on assembly).

The truck arm front x-member should be a bolt in to the 62 frame rails if it's not already in place (not sure on the early 1-tons).
Truck arms would just need the OE 8-lug axle or have arms fabbed for whatever (Squarebody or newer?) 8-lug/dually axle.
Coils would work w/a bolt on upper coil mount (like what CPP 73-87 truck-arm conversion kits used).

The 62 is an X frame, if I'm not mistaken. Different crossmember entirely.

Didn't they (X-frames) have truck arms as well? If so, I would think the x-member might allow adapting T/A mounts.

The X Frame does use trailing arms, but it's a very different looking bracketry. You can't exactly re & re the crossmember. It would be interesting if there were both brackets, eh? Or maybe the C30 used a different frame altogether, and not an X?

Exactly what I was picturing in my head.... I just didn't realize yours was the most recent image I'd seen.

ElReeso, what does the frame look like (cab to rear rails)?
