Another '72 Cheyenne, from Ind

Hello Everyone. A friend of mine turned me on to this forum a few months back and I’ve been lurking/reading since. I’m dusting off and starting to work my long-term project again. I’ve spent most of my time thus far reading through the 67-72 Projects/Build and the Racing/High-Performance forums. All I can say is ‘Holy Cow!!’ There are A LOT of very talented, dedicated and innovative folks here! I’ve been out of the game for ~20 years and am amazed by the advancements that have occurred in our hobby. And I’m very impressed by the overall professionalism shown in this Forum. I’m not much for ‘social media’ or posting on the internet but, I’ve found valuable information/answers here (and will need more). I hope to give a bit back, as I start a Build Thread for my truck.

While I’m new here, I’m not exactly new to these trucks. I’m the second owner of a 1972 C10 Cheyenne, LWB, 350/350. I purchased it in 1984, after the original owner traded it for a new one at Allen Chevrolet in Cambridge City In. It was a nice truck, with 57,700 miles, original down to the hubcaps but, had ‘typical, half-a$$ed’ rust repair (rocker skins, poorly patched cab corners).

The truck and I have gone through a ‘few changes/iterations’ over the past 34 years, as we traveled through high school, USMC, college, marriage, career, kids, kids in college… and hope to have it rolling again later this year (after being ‘dormant’ since Dec 1988).

I have a lot to do but, compared to some of projects you all have shown here, mine is a layup lol. And I’ve read a few builds/threads that seem to be eerily similar to my story/combo (seems to be a lot of kindred spirits here!) 😊.

I plan to start a build tread soon. I’ll share a bit of the truck’s history and current build status/progress.
