WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
What do you feel is the going rate for a roller SWB K10 Chassis in your area? Stock, no drive train, just a roller. Unsure of axle rates at this time. No paperwork. Overall decent shape, not rusted or tweaked.
Just trying to get a general idea.

Re: WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
It's all about the supply and demand for it.
I wish I had a 71/72 SWB K10 frame to convert my 72 K10 LWB into a SWB.

Re: WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
This part of the board is hit or miss on getting actual answers. I was just trying to decide if it was worth letting go or just keeping it. Where its sitting right now it isn't in anyone's way and its totally covered. But if it had a decent value to some one I would let it go.
I get people are cutting them down left and right ... No cutting required on this one =) Im knee deep in my C30 project and my panel is taking on steam. So with no pictures and a basic general idea what do you guys think?

I would say $800-$1000. I have picked them up cheaper here, but they have some rust usually in my area.

Re: WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
This ^^^. Look for rust at the front hanger and frame for the rear springs. That is a common problem area. It's been a good handful of years or better now, but I sold my complete '71 SWB 307/3spd K/10 SWB that was rusty, never tried to start, minus the bed for $1,500 for the value in the frame/VIN-plate/Glovebox door/title. That is everything needed to convert a long bed to an authentic and legal appearing SWB. That price would be more like $2,500 today. I paid $1,300 for the truck in '06

Re: WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
I need to pull it out of storage and give it a good going over. Out here where rust isnt really a big issue when it comes to frames might run a little less? Not sure ... I appreciate your input though. I know you have a lot of knowledge with buying (not too much selling, hence the moniker .. Too Much Stuff) lol!

Re: WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
Just me, but if you don't have to sell it, I sure wouldn't. I'm not sure what it's worth now-I would think starting at $1000 wouldn't be out of line-but whatever it is now, it won't get worth any less over time, and what if you need or want it some day?? I know you didn't ask for advice. Just my thoughts. Thanks.

Re: WIW 71/72 SWB K10 Chassis
Here in Idaho if it doesn't come with a title, it's worth the tires axles and springs.
Idaho checks the VIN Numbers on the frame, and they better match the cab, or you better have a title for both. If not, they have the authority to impound the vehicle, until it's figured out. Now that that's out of the way, Depending on condition, I would say $800 to $1000 -Russ
