Good to see you have it on the road again. I think its always more fun to work on them when they are driveable. Kind of lets you check your progress in the real world.

Re: Well 2 years and a pandemic later...
Care to share the build info?
Motor/trans? Suspension mods? Re-worked original panels or aftermarket sheet-metal? Any interior changes?

Re: Well 2 years and a pandemic later...
Sure! It has a gen1 sbc. 4bolt main , pink rods, mahle pistons reworked 202 head mild cam. Nothing fancy and stock compression. Has a edelbrock carb (that's acting fussy) has aftermarket valve covers and a chessy air cleaner. Needs some work. Has a stock rebuilt 350 tranny. Re built 12 bolt rear end but nothing expensive. Should have done more there. It does have new axles and all the bits. Rear suspension is trailing arms and lowering springs and shocks and blocks lol. Does have a notch welded in frame and a sway bar . Jeez I did everything lol. Has a rear tank from tanks inc . Has fuel door in bed which isnt awsome but ok. Has all new wire harness from jimbo goddamn this harness costs alot. What else...aluminum radiator. Aftermarket heater. Front ends a late 70- 80s chevy with drop spindles and springs and shocks. Has gm disc brakes up front and new old style rear drums (drums arent working so that sucks cause I gotta un bolt the rear end to change a tire !!! Bad!) It has a kit from performance online for master cylinder and booster. It has no emergency brake cause iam stupid and didnt do it when it was apart. Has a captain fab power steering retrofit kit . Has a super cool front runner system that I think others should buy. I'll post about it later. I sand blasted everything and it got reworked and painted. The floor was so bad we replaced it with an entire stamping. It wasnt that hard. Aftermarket cab corners. After market left front fender. Everything else is chevy. New wood in back but it's not great aftermarket bed strips painted. Not that great. Aftermarket tailgate hinges that look stupid but I chicken ****ted doing a custom latch. I did the new style head lights which is ok I guess. Aftermarket tail light lenses. Whole **** load of aftermarket small parts . That's not great but it was so close to new i hated puting junk back on. Bad I know. I did the un thinkable and used a really fancy Dakota digital gauge cluster. It looks and works awsome but it ruined the look. My bad. The interior is stock color and pretty plain. The seat my friends mom did with leftover materials so I cant cry. And it looks awsome but not stock. The paint I copied from another truck on here. It's a stock chevy red and white. The trims all new . I suck I know for just buying it but I wanted it and said **** it and bought it. Bumpers are aftermarket till I re work the old ones cause now iam a bit tired and needed a break. Bad things- smells hot even when it cooling. Carb ain't great. Shifts real sloppy cause column is a 2 speed and or linkage. Horn doesnt work and I dont know why. No e- brakes. No rear brakes. Kick down doesnt work right. And accelerator linkage binds and wont go back to idle. Drivers door , door stop wont let door open. No radio and my buddy put cherry bombs on it without my permission and its loud as **** and I now have to do it again. Dumbass!

Charlie, please do post about the "super cool front runner system". I've been considering doing that.

Re: Well 2 years and a pandemic later...
Not the best pictures and their probably sideways but this kit was afoardable and fit really really well. It's been a few years so I bet they have more products and many more options. The pulleys are like jewelry and like I said it just feel on and it works as intended. I have no other experience so dont know their track record or if others are disappointed but I thought it was awsome.
While iam here tell me how a kick down carb linkage works lol |
