mystery camshaft

I have searched and cannot identify a new camshaft that I have had for many years and lost the paperwork for it.
The number 975539 is stamped on one end of it with no other numbers.
Does anyone by chance have a clue as to what this cam is...?
Thanks

What engine is it for? Is it a GM cam or aftermarket?

Re: mystery camshaft

It is a sbc cam...don't know if GM or otherwise. This is what I am trying to establish. All I know is the number stamped on it and it has a red painted dot near the number And it is unused...

Re: mystery camshaft

Most aftermarket cams have the MFR's name stamped on it on the rear of the cam. Most GM cams don't have much info on them for identification. Is there a casting number somewhere between the lobes?

Re: mystery camshaft

Yes, the following stampings along the cam.
1579 between cam gear and adjacent lobe. Opposite this number is what looks like OWO.
D6 is stamped b/t last journal and cam gear.
B/t 1st and 2nd lobe is 117 or 11T. Opposite that is 25.
No other markings.
And thanks for your interest in helping to solve the puzzle..
