Sound deadening and rhino line

Looking for suggestions or recommendations. I am currently replacing my rockers and have stripped down the inside of my cab. I am hitting it with a wire brush and then will prep everything for paint. I would like to instal sound deadner on the floors, doors and all the way up to the bottom of the rear window behind my gas tank.
I dont know what order to do this in. I dont want to install carpet and there would be to much moisture with all the snow here in alaska. I would like to just have the bottom rhino lined. Do I spray the rhino liner on top of the sound deadner. Anyone have suggestions? Thank u.

I don't think you will be happy with sound deadener that has been rhino-lined over. If you are talking about the dyno mat style sound deadener, it is rather squooshy if you know what I mean and would not do well under the liner. Eventually the liner would chip/flake off from all the boots and such working it over. If your talking about roll-out roofing, it will do the same thing, but be real sticky too because it is asphaltic based.

The true purpose of the dyno mat sound deadener is to take the tinny noise out of the sheet steel by dampening its vibrations. You get very little sound deadening from its thickness, like an unnoticeable amount. Knowing that...you will get a similar sound/vibration deadening affect from the rhino-liner alone. Carpet and underlying jute actually kills more sound than anything given that the sheet steel is not vibrating.

I would prep your floor for the rhino-liner, give it two or more coats if the directions allow, and be done with it. As far as the back of the cab, door innards, and kick panel areas...sound deaden those and paint over them with some spray bomb. Those areas will take less abuse and the paint will last longer there.

If it were me, I'd still cut some carpet remnants up to fit the floor and just toss them every so often and cut new ones.

I use the adhesive backed foil insulation I get at Home Depot in the HVAC aisle. I think it is called frost king. About a roll and half does the truck and works really well. I also buy a roll of foil backed tape to secure in any areas that come together also use it to secure ac and duct vent hose in the truck.

I’m thinking about trying lizard skin this summer when I take the tank out of the cab I have dynamat down now and have read reviews about air bubble under the mat holding moisture and causing rust. It should be fun getting the dynamat up 😔

I did the home depot insulation and the molded vinyl flooring.
I looks and sounds great. But vinyl floors and leather seats make it feel colder than a truck with carpet and cloth seats.
I would think you would like some kind of flooring other than steel, even if its a piece of carpet from home depot cut and molded to fit.

After fixing my cab rust I put down a coat of epoxy primer on the bare metal. After that I sprayed beeline down on the cab floor, toe board and an inch up on the kick panels. Then I put down Kilmarnock sound deadner for both sound dealing and heat barrier.
