T-case Trans. Question - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I need to know if i can just bolt a t-case adapter from a 700r4/np208 combo to a rwd 700r4 out of a z-28 or will i have mainshaft problems such as spline count or shaft length etc

i may have to put in a 700r4 (out of Z28) into my blazer which had a 700r4/208 combo originally and i still have the t-case and adapter ......... i need to know if this will work

i have a th400 in the truck now and the yards around here are outrageously high for the t-case for that so if i cant find a t-case then i will use what i do have

Tail shaft may be differant, I know they are on the th350's but it should be pretty easy and cheap to swap.

I appreciate the info but i knew that much (not being a smart a$$)
I don't know if the mainshaft coming out of the trans was longer or shorter for a RWD as opposed to a 4WD or if the mainshaft had a different spline count I have heard that these are differences on the RWD and 4WD versions of the Th350
