Spindles changed track width

I did Ridetech a-arms and coilovers up front on my ‘77 (the kit comes with CPP lowering spindles) and now my track width is at least 1.5” narrower and it looks weird. I bought the truck lowered with drop spindles already on it (no idea of brand). Are CPP spindles stock width while some other brands are wider ( like the ones my truck originally came with)?

Re: Spindles changed track width

The 'modular' spindles from CPP (the ones w/the bolt-on caliper bracket) don't increase track width like standard drop spindles will. It's only like a .250-.375" per side though (not .750" per side).

So.... If you had drop spindles already, they would have pushed track width out .250-.375" vs. a stock disc brake spindle (it's been common knowledge that drop spindles pushed the wheels out slightly). Switching to CPP's modular spindle negates that increase & is supposed to narrow the track width vs. a stock disc brake spindle.

So, the CPP spindle might be a total of .750" per side depending on the measurements of each spindle.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: Spindles changed track width

They probably do that so you can run wider wheels/tires.

Re: Spindles changed track width

Pretty sure the ride tech a-arms are narrower as well. I have them on my truck.
