Installing blazer fuel tank
Hello all, this question is for those that know or have done the k5 tank conversion on their c10., I have a 72 with a carburated sb 350 & mechanical pump. Currently there are no original fuel lines so i have to run new from front to back. how did you plumb it? Did you keep the charcoal canister? How did you vent it? What size fuel lines? Sorry for all the questions but I live in the city where emissions are required and want to get it right. Thank you

Re: Installing blazer fuel tank
I used 5/16" aluminum line for both supply and return lines. I ran my lines down the passenger frame rail and made my own fuel line clips. My truck is old school so there is no emissions on it so I can't answer your question on the charcoal canister.
I ran the return line as I want to go to EFT at some point down the road.

Re: Installing blazer fuel tank
Fuel feed line should be 3/8 for a v8
5/16 is a light fuel line size |

Re: Installing blazer fuel tank
GMC684x4 is correct , 3/8 line for supply and return , i am in the process of doing a side fill blazer tank and going to try and modifying a holley 12-308 in tank pump and regulator to use stock filler sender unit, therefore eliminating return line, have set up sniper efi on 350 with in line fuel pump mounted to passenger frame and find it to noisy , have it plumbed with 3/8 line feed and return and no issues

Re: Installing blazer fuel tank
What is the current setup , you have a line from stock tank going to canister? The blazer tank i am using is a stock configuration tank and it has three nipples for vent , one 3/8 i am going to use for fuel filler vent, the other 2 i will use as just venting, my 70 never had the emissions crap on it

Re: Installing blazer fuel tank
It’s always best to use a return line at least as big as the supply. The smaller return line CAN restrict the return flow to the tank, causing more pressure to the engine. It’s not likely with your stockish setup, but something to consider.

Re: Installing blazer fuel tank
We ran 3/8 Ni-cop from pump, down frame & back to fuel filter. It's so easy to bend and work with. https://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/635806K/10002/-1
Then rubber fuel hose, added protective sleeve over it, from filter looped around into tank. (That way if ever have to remove tank can drop it easily.) The vent is just rubber hose with a breather stuck on end; that was routed up into/between bedside inner & outer skin. Pic on post #18 here http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...32#post8653432
