One of One GMC you've never heard of (its not the Palomino)

Gents, I recently learned of this one-off show truck made by General Motors for the 1956 year (one year before the Palomino) the GMC Bluegrass Runabout.

I would love to see color photos of this beauty, as I have a blue and white 56 GMC Suburban and recreating this truck would be fun!

Link to Newspaper article for easy reading

Features Mentioned:

Lexington blue and white
Mahogany bed wood
Roll-up cargo cover
Steel tie rails for the bed
Foldaway step on the tailgate
Two-way radio
Electric door opener!!
Deeper tray behind the bench seat
Hidden tool compartment in the cab corner
Copper plated hood grill
55ish Olds Hubcaps

That's a neat article. There are color pictures of this truck around. IIRC there are one or two of the truck parked on display at a show. And I really feel like someone posted a photo or two on this forum. Stand by...

Dave where , how do you find this stuff ?

Gee now that you know about this truck are you thinking of cloning it ?

That would be a cool truck but probably left for someone else to do as it could get speedy .

Great find .
