434 sbc oil pan
Been awhile since I have posted. I am building a new 434 SBC for my 68. I am using a Dart Little M raised cam location block. I am looking for recommendations for an oil pan to fit the stock chassis and crossmember. Street driven most all the time. Looking for a good pan for oil control and to keep windage down. Opinions of running a true crank scraper also? Thanks for any info!

Re: 434 sbc oil pan
I would put more money in a good pump than a pan. I'm a believer in Gerotor style pumps. no need for a crank scraper on a street motor.

Re: 434 sbc oil pan
As far as a pan goes, I ran a Kevko #1070 street/strip pan on my stock block 434 and I have that same pan (only in a RH dipstick configuration) on my SHP 434 now. Fits great and shows no oil pressure drop going down the track. I did have to do some minor clearancing on the crank scraper, however, but nothing major.

Re: 434 sbc oil pan
I still don't like stock type Melling pumps though.
