Champion radiator fitment issues

Anyone had a champion radiator? My mounting holes are 25 3/4 and the radiator is 25 1/4 center to center. It has oval holes so helps but doesnt align. And doesnt fit in opening of radiator mount. Ordered cc8859 which is what they said fits. Dont want to grind my mount to sink it in yet until I have ideas. I have width so I could add mounting bracket or platoon one side but then more bolts to come loose and not as clean

Re: Champion radiator fitment issues

According to their page https://www.championradiators.com/3-...-rad-1955-1959

It should be 26-1/2 wide outside of bracket to outside of bracket. Core should be 21.75 wide.

It looks like you got a radiator for a GMC rather than one for a Chevy though That looks like this one https://www.championradiators.com/GM...ator-1955-1959 Now I am confused. are you the one with the Chevy truck or the one with the GMC truck with the Original made by Pontic engine in it? I'm old I don't remember some of these things all the time.

48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Haha no worries. I dont ever remember anything 🤣 I have a 57 gmc so I did that part right. And I did a 350 v8 engine swap from a van my in laws donated to me. The mounting flanges just seem to be off

Re: Champion radiator fitment issues

I've had 3 or 4 of their radiators and had really good luck with them. Had a fitment issue with one, but it was my fault ordering the wrong part. I emailed back and forth with their customer service and they were very helpful, might try emailing them.

Yes thank you. Called yesterday and they are having me talk to the product development guy and send measurements and supposedly are gonna fix it for me 🤔. I have to call back today for more details
