how do you hook up a temperature sending unit?
i got the unit. and a wire. does it just go on there? the wire has no connector the sending unit looks liek this. also where does it go on the engine? anyone got pics?

it goes in a hole in the side of the head, on a SBC usually driver side between #1 and #3 spark plug wire

You may also find a suitable location at the front of the intake manifold.

btw... where on the front of the intake were you talking about? we werent mocking u btw.
i bought my new engine harness today. $69 i think. i got it from outback truck parts. it is a wiringharness.com wiring harness. it has the hookup for the temp sending unit... 2 hookups actually 1 and then another so i guess you can hook up 2 different kinds? its for 70-72 v8 automatics... and i bought the hei wire. its pink... and an alternator conversion harness.

Temp Sensor
Mine is just to the passenger side of the water inlet, in the cooling passage to the passenger side, so it sees the block water temp just before the thermostat.

there are two one between the #1 and #3 cyls on the head the other between the #6 and #8 cyls on the head the one between #6 and #8 is usually used for an idiot light or blocked off-joe
