e38 ecm pin removal
doing a diy harness modification do i need to remove the pins in the molex connector or can i just cut the wires close to pin and not have any issues. i cant see spending $85 for a extractor tool that i wont use but once thanks for you help

Easy solution. Remove the wire covering by gently prying out on the two tabs where the wires meet the connector. Lift it off. Then pry the blue, grey or black pin retainer to expose the pins. Look inside and you will see small piano key type fingers holding the pin. Using a jewelers screwdriver, gently lift the piano key away from the pin and pull the wire out. Another option is to just cut the wire off and push it through the connector, after removing the colored connector portion.

thanks everyone finally getting back to my truck with all this crazy going on in the world. going to the local pick and pay to see if i can find a donor fuse block. any one have any suggestions. thanks

Removing that cover makes it a pita to snap back on when the teminals twist. I.bought the tool qhen that sum b was 65$ and its stupid simple but is the right tool for the job.
If you have ended length micro drill bit set will do the job too. Clint
