Gas pedal ???

Want to change the pedal on the Gas padel. I'm looking for The pedal that fits on the end. I don't want the floor mount rubber one. The short one that hangs on the end of the rod . Maybe a wrecking yard ?

Re: Gas pedal ???

That is where I got mine. It's getting tougher to find 71-72 trucks to scrounge from. If you use the factory gas pedal you will need the adapter plate another member on this forum makes. that's what I did. I think you could also replace with a Lokar setup, just a bit pricy

Re: Gas pedal ???

70'S Chevy vans have a lot of parts that fit our trucks. ( I bought one for the drive train and there were lots of nickel & dime things that bolted right on).
The gas peddle on some of those is similar and might work. Worth checking them if you see one in a yard.

Re: Gas pedal ???

You will need to change to a '71-'72 gas pedal assembly and cable.

Search this forum, there are several threads addressing this mod.

You will need a '71-'72 pedal assembly and cable, an adapter plate, a cable bracket at the carb to anchor the cable, and you will need to create a new square hole in your firewall.

You can plug the existing holes in your firewall with rubber plugs.

All of this can be done fairly easily with regular hand tools.

The adapter plate is available from board member 70_402. https://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vbo...d.php?t=746099

Re: Gas pedal ???

keep an eye out...you'll find a pedal assembly from a 71-72 for sale occasionally...
I found 2...not at the same time but I bought the adapter mentioned above for my 67 LS1 swap...works perfectly
