69-72 and 73-77 rear bench seat difference

So I bought a 70 Jimmy that didn’t have a rear seat, found one on Craigslist and the guy claims it came from a 72, but it definitely looks like a 73-77 as it’s red cloth, and has normal looking brackets on the front (not the bars that use the floor clamps). He only wants 100 bucks for it. I know the brackets aren’t the same, but is the frame itself the same, and if so is the foam close enough that it could be shaved and reshaped to take a 69-70 cover? I’ve been looking for a while and all I see are benches for 1k+ that still need recovered. I figure if this takes me a couple days worth of work it’s worth saving the money.

Similar size, wrong brackets. While you can surely install it, the struggle of finding and retrofitting correct brackets will be the difficult part. If you’re not going for stock, buy it and Mount it up 👍🏽

Yeah I’m trying to go with oe style 69-70 vinyl covers. I might just wait and try and find the correct one, people sure do want a lot of money for them

Is it a regular front or rear seat for a truck? Because the front & rear seat for a regular truck or CrewCab, they are the same size. And I wouldn’t think it would fit for a rear Blazer or Jimmy, they are slightly smaller.
If you can post a picture of the seat he has for sale,
I should certainly be able to identify it. I do a lot with the 73-87 seats.

Here’s a picture. He claims it came
From a 72 blazer but it definitely looks 73+ to me

Definitely not 72. I’d say 73 on up
