question on alignment and steering wheel - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I was changing the front tie rod end in the picture you see below and I got to thinking about my truck's alignment. My steering wheel isn't straight when I go down the road. I've had a guy look at it and he says the alignment is correct. He suggested that my truck may have a bent frame and that is why the steering wheel is out. Another guy told me that I could adjust this link to make the wheel straight. I figured you guys would know. If I readjust this will I screw up my alignment?

i dont know if the are the same but on my 78 2wd i just pulled
the steering wheel & centered it..good luck

lol, I would just pull the wheel off when I've got the wheels to a known straight position and put the wheel on centered

Someone, correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think you can. There's a plastic horn ring that prevents you from putting it on only one way.

I pulled my off to straighten it too. I have a Grant steering wheel.

Mhorning, you can slide that ring around however you want, how else could you turn the wheel around 3 times?
