Back ordered parts/wheels
Back in December 2021 I ordered 1 extra chrome Wheel Vintiques "vette" rallye wheel from Summit and It was backordered , I thought no big deal they aren't a hard to get wheel , So after 7 months of trying dozens of calls to Summit and Wheel Vintiques and a delivery date being pushed up multiple times I finally found 1 at Coker tire and they only had 1 in stock . I should have it in a few days . Wheel Vintiques shows them being available again in October , 11 Months on back order waiting for parts to build more wheels , These aren't custom expensive wheels that I would expect an extended wait on They're just chrome rallyes . Back when I ordered the wheels they were $120.00 each Todays price for 1 wheel from Coker $200.00 with shipping .
Parts just keep getting harder to find and more expensive . https://www.cokertire.com/wheels/pic...r1586l400.html

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
Sounds like an opportunity for American manufacturing. I swear this supply chain garbage might be just the thing to bring some industries back home again.

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
I just bought buddy bucket seat cushions from summit racing. They have been back ordered forever. I kept in touch with the manufacturer (dashes direct, USA manufactured in Las Vegas) and as soon as he told me they had 20 available I placed my order with summit. They were drop shipped with free shipping and about $100 less than if I had bought direct from the manufacturer. Very pleased with price and quality.

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
While I am an engineer by degree I now do engineered equipment sales. Valves and instrumentation for power plants, food plants, paper mills, natural gas from production through mid stream, etc. The whole supply chain issue is VERY troubling. Normally, we have one price increase at the first of October. Due to all the issues we have had to increase prices three times already and will do so again first of October. Not to mention some of my lead times have gone from 3-4 weeks to as long as 28 weeks and more.
It is very troubling for both my income and as a general trend. Parts for old hobby trucks is one thing, but parts for plants that make food and electricity is something else to ponder.

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
Love the warranty
Coker Tire Company warrants chrome and finish wheels and accessories to the original purchaser for a period of fifteen (15) months from the date of purchase. Oxidation or corrosion due to improper care, and/or adverse weather or chemicals is not covered by this warranty. Wheels that have been mounted, painted,or powder coated are considered used and cannot be returned. Please test fit the wheels before you mount or paint them. Please see specifications for Backspace and Bolt Pattern for each Part#. So I guess your suppose to put them on a shelf for 15 months? Croker is on the high end for everything they sell .

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
I wish I knew 7 months ago I finally got tired waiting on Summit and Wheel Vintiques and started calling around to some of the bigger wheel distributors , I saw there were other places that sold chrome rallyes but I wanted to stay with the same brand of wheels and not run into problems of the center caps not fitting like I've read can be a problem , I've been thinking about just going to steel wheels and caps ? The wheel from Coker will be here today and already listed "out for delivery " 1 day shipping ! I'll post up pics to see if they match ?

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
Perfect match right down to the stamped build date ? Summit / Wheel Vintiques and Coker still have them on backorder So I guess I just got lucky finding another one !
Old school is still cool !

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
Another example of poor communication between businesses. I'm glad he was able to get what he wanted by navigating the process on his own. Crazy detail on the build code date similarity.

Re: Back ordered parts/wheels
I ordered a pair of croker 10” truck rally’s last month and are supposed to be available to ship sometime in august. I hope it don’t take 7 months to get mine! I guess I’ll keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best.
