Seatbelt ID
I have checked and could not find a definitive thread on identifying seatbelts. I realize that there is a date code present usually, but how do I know what I have is out of one of our trucks?
I have all kinds of belts I have collected over the years, mostly because they were in a box of other stuff I wanted; or I liked the color; or I figured they would go in a truck I hadn't bought yet. I now realize that I have many that do not appear to be standard length: they might from a car of similar vintage or belong in the rear seat of a Suburban or Blazer. One of my trucks has a mismatched "middle" belt that I have always wondered about. So guess I am wondering if the 68-72 lap belts were a standard length for driver and passenger and middle occupant, and if all the retractors and covers were the same style. It would be nice to just take a measuring tape and sort them that way. Any help appreciated of course.
