Frame swap question.
I am trying to figure out if a 67-72 truck body will fit on any other year frames.
I purchased a 72 basket case k20. Not real happy with the condition of the frame. Will a 73-to 87 frame fit? I have tried to find info but only found a couple threads and they say the early body won't fit correctly on the newer frame. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

There are differences from front to back. It can be done. This guy has a good video of a side by side comparison.

Re: Frame swap question.
Thank you.
That pretty much answers my question. It's not going to work for me. |

Re: Frame swap question.
That had to be a lot of fab work. But worth it I bet.

Tahoe chassis for me, but it is a lot of fabrication.
with stock setup they sit kinda high (like4x4), going to add drop spindles. |

Re: Frame swap question.
If you are going to keep it 4x4 don’t put it on a Tahoe frame, keep the front solid axle. That’s my personal opinion. It can be made to work with a square body frame but it will require an inch or so body lift to get everything sitting level. Also the squares have a little longer wheel base.
