Decode Suffix Engine
Can you help me decipher the suffix.
I think I have a 1979 truck engine number K0525T5A. The Engine comes from Ontario and was made on May 25th if I decoded it correctly. What I can't get is the "T5A" , actually it would be "TBA" , a 4 bolt block, barrel and 165HP, heads would also fit. Our admission refuses me admission without the correct code letter, can you help me?

Re: Decode Suffix Engine
I found some information on another forum regarding T5A suffix codes. This may help out. Paraphrasing:
T5A - 1984 Truck 350, 160hp, man trans, LT-9, single q-jet, 3/4 & 1 ton, 2 & 4x4, Canadian smog eq. The 3970010 block was not cast past the 1979 model year. From Flint, MI engine assembly plant documentation, remaining inventory of 3970010's were used for engines assembled in Canada. Regards, Chris |
