the dash in my 78 is in worse shape than originally anticipated.the dash in my 74 is in good shape and has full gauges instead of idiot lights.i was looking at the dash in the 78 and it looks it wont be to hard to remove.there is 3 bolts on the drivers side-one is holding a bracket which appears to be holding the e-brake pedal on and there is 2 more holding the dash shell on and 2 on the passenger side.is there anything else i should be aware like is the dash shell welded on anywhere.any tips would be appreciated.

theres two bolts on each side of the dash to the side of the truck then the whole top of it is welded to the cab up under where the windshield

Bob is correct, it is spot welded across the bottom of the window. Not too easy to replace/exchange.

i thought it might be but my dad happens to know to weld and what not so he said he would help get the dash out if need be.i know it may seem crazy to do a complete dash swap but the shell of the one in my 78 is in worse shape than i originally thought-it is cut out for a cd player which doesnt bug me but whoever did it cut into the metal area for the heater contols and lower gauge areas of the dash-it looks pretty bad without the bezel on.
