1967 c10 LWab Inline 6 /s peed to LS/4l60e driveshaft length
Ok..I have read tons of posts that said LS swapping in with a L60E you can use the stock driveshaft as is. I can't see it. I yanked out the inline 6 and 3 speed manual. I got the LS (LR4 4.8L) mounted on 73 V8 mounts with setback adapter plates on the LS. I have the engine as far forward as ai can (oil pan is only 1/2" from cross emember) and my driveshaft is about 3 inches too long. I was going to get it cut. Before I did that wanted to make sure I wasn't doing anything way off.

They only engine transmission combo that I think might not need the driveshaft changes is 350engine with 350 transmission. Since the 4L60 and 350trans are so similar.
Yes, you are going to need your driveshaft shortened. |

Ok. That makes sense. I was following this thread and he said 3 speed manual so I was hoping for the same lol. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=517347
All good. I'll take measurments and have it shortened. Thanks. |

Yah, that is interesting. I went and measured a 4l60 I have not installed and it was about 31 3/4 long, then I made a measurement on a 3speed I have installed and it was about 29.
Not sure how he got lucky, looks like he's using the stock truck pan too. I'm sure he'd talk to you if you called him: https://www.swaptimeusa.com/store/c2..._Products.html |
