TH 350 Slip Yoke Sleeve

I had an issue with my drivetrain and having it replaced along with the tail shaft bearing and bushing. I noticed on my output shaft that I have the sleeve one there. From what I understand the sleeve (and O-Ring) are there to prevent the old style slip yokes that have the holes in them from leaking into the tail shaft housing.

Being that I am replacing my driveshaft and it will come with the sealed slip yoke with the missing tooth, do I still need the sleeve on the output shaft? If it's no longer needed should I remove it or can I just leave it where it is because I hear it's a pain to get them out.

Transmission is a TH350

No you do not need the sleeve any longer. So others know the missing tooth is to allow the air to move from the back of the yolk into the transmission.

Re: TH 350 Slip Yoke Sleeve

Thanks for the response. Any advice on leaving it in place or removing it. Seems to make the most sense to remove a part that's not needed, but I guess if it's not hurting anything then....

Re: TH 350 Slip Yoke Sleeve

You have to remove it. Other wise it will trap air on the back side.
Use them in sets.
The sleeve and the vented yolk.
None vented yolk by it's self.
