Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
My '72 K20 was bone stock when I bought it in 1977 and not much has changed. Can't recall exactly but I paid roughly $3200 -- $3300.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I bought my Orange '68 C/10 Stepside in Pasadena, Calif, in June 1973* for $1200. It had a factory 292 L6, SM465 4-speed, 3.73:1 gear ratio, 7.00x17.5 tires, West Coast Jr Mirrors. 516 Orange.
All manual. Most likely a fleet truck. Only 6 entries listed on the SPID. The odometer read just under 80,000 miles. Now it shows about 406,000. *Hey! It's our 50th anniversary.

[/quote] So I never answered the third query: Stock or Modified? Body is stock. Except for the P/S front fender, which got an off-colored GMC fender as a replacement in the mid-'80s... April '22, I got T-Boned on the right rear quarter and my current step fender is crushed in. I bought a '68 P/S step fender in gold, but have yet to mount it. I rebuilt a junkyard 292 in 1977 at MCAS Yuma. The Sgt in charge of the Base Hobby Shop Garage traded me out my stock folding bench seat for an electric-powered '69 F*rd Thunderbird Bench-bottom/Bucket-back seat. I've had it re-vinyled in Saddle a couple times. I put a rebuilt 12-Bolt Corp 3.73 [open] diff on last summer to replace the Eaton Posi 12-Bolt diff that got ''crunchy'' after the incident of 4/22. Not sure I remember how many SM465s I've gone thru in 50 years? More than 3, maybe. Put the original L6 - 292 [RPO L25] back in the truck following a high performance rebuild. Engine #2 (from Yuma) ran 25 years and 250,000 miles. [Valvoline Racing SAE 30, changed every 2000 miles, Kids.] Engine #3 is Engine #1 with a rebuild: Bored .030-over, Badger pistons, Crane 260H cam, Bigger intake Valves [1.84''], Offenhauser intake, Clifford Research headers, Edelbrock 1404 500 CFM 4-bbl carb. L6 HEI, Dual Exhaust has angled [for L6] equalized crossover tube, Turbo mufflers exiting aft of tires. White spoke rims, 16 x 7'' and Cooper 235/85R16LT tires. Project may need Frame Straightened. One-Piece Driveshaft has a big ding [post- 4/22], and must go to shop for inspection or repair. Speeds over 59 MPH produce excessive vibration. Running the '71 GMC Jimmy as the daily driver, now.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
Well, if ''WMA'' means White Male American in Dragnet's police code, then WMB must mean White Male Brit.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I’ll step in to solve the mystery…Working Man’s Burban. HO455 has documented so much of his work on WMB in his build thread (invitation to wander over to the Suburban side) that I and many others go to it for help…plus he is always ready to give assistance when a question pops up!

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I bought my ‘72 Suburban in November of 2017…for $13,500 in California dollars! The upside is that I only had to drive 90 miles to the high desert where it had lived it’s whole life (very little rust) and it pretty much “checked” all the boxes for me…plus the ‘89 454 had been stored in new/unused condition until 2012 when it was installed, then due to health reasons, was driven very little for a couple of years and was non-op for four more years before I bought it from the original owner. My mechanic confirmed that the engine was hardly used.

Re: When did you buy your truck and how much?
I bought my 72 Blazer in 2007 for $1500. It didn't have an engine and one of the fenders was mismatched. I put a $100 engine in it and drove it that way for six years.
Now it has an L31 Vortec I built for 330 HP/400 Tq, completely rewired, 2 1/2 dual stainless exhaust, and I'm slowly completing the body work.
