I bought a K5!!!!
I'm about as happy as can be, saw this 1970 Blazer listed on the 69-72 Blazer forum and just couldn't resist buying it.
I have to go down near Dallas, Texas to pick it up. Has a 400 sb that needs a distributor and fuel pump. Transfer case has the rear output stripped, probably the splines. 6" lift. Rotted 38" tires - they don't look like 38" tires to me though. Rust looks pretty minimal. Maybe cause it is from Texas. Top looks good. Interior doesn't look too bad. Dash uncut. Hasn't ran in 4 years so many things to do to get her reliable and safe. I've wanted a Blazer for a long long time and just couldn't pass on this one. I will focus right now on getting my 69 to the paint shop and then I can start fiddling with this Blazer. Have to get her road worthy and then wait a year or two to make any changes. All I really would want to do is get some new tires, probably different rims, get the motor reliable and enjoy! Soft top is a must, gots to be topless in the summer.

Congrats Mark, I was thinking about that one but didn't want to make a trip right now.. Have fun with it!!!

She knows how much I enjoy my 67-72's - thank goodness. I just couldn't pass this one up. It can sit for awhile until I get my K20 done.

Great score Mark!! I now know what it's like to have more than 1 project now that we have the 58 GMC. We got it running and put the grill and fenders on it, just so it can sit until my 72 is done.
How is your truck coming along?

Dubie, I need to get a couple semi warm days so I can prep and paint the firewall then I can start putting the truck back together, take the flatbed off so the rear of the cab can be painted, and get it to the paint shop.

I need an NP205 first, might have a buddy with one locally, course I think a CH465 is in order too.
Mike, do you remember the white 1971 or 72 that I was really considering a couple years ago? I think this one is in better shape, rust wise. The other one had a hard and soft top, but that is no biggie. I read today an easy way to tell if the motor is actually a 400 rather than 350 is to see if the balancer is different than the solid ones used on 350's. Is that correct. Oh, btw, thanks for the welcome to the K5 club!

I thought hard about going to get it(only 4 hrs) but I've got my eye on a '70 swb 4x4 for the same $$, so I'm going for it. Looks like one heck of a deal and complete is the good part. Matthew

I am glad it went to a good home. I sent the owner an e-mail and he was very up-front with the issues that you described. I decided that one project at a time is enough for me right now. If you need some help with it let me know, it is not far from where I am. Another one saved :-)

I've got a TH350 and 203 but no 205... Most 400's have 3 freeze plugs on each side of the block, but not all. As you noted, the harmonic balancer is different. It will be an 8" balancer, but part of the outside ring nearest the block is cut away. If you have one, you'll know what I mean!

Yep, I agree 33" looks more correct. No problem either way, they won't be road worthy after sitting for 4 years. I can find new shoes for it, hmmm, the 69's tires could go on there if the rims weren't 8 lug.
I must say the buyer was very upfront, which is nice. Didn't suger coat the Blazer. For those of you who considered it but didn't - THANKS cause I am so excited to finally own a K5!
