Bucket seat holes?
Okay.....71 Blazer bucket seat mounting holes.....they have the factory threaded inserts and they are wider (front to back) than the seat mounting holes....what gives? The seats are the same width front to back as my 72 buckets.....there are no other holes or dimples in the floor pan......does anyone know whats up with this? Thanks......

Patch,
I would like to answer your question, but I have no idea what you are asking. Jim |

Are the 72 buckets you are trying to install on your 71 blazer from a truck or Blazer ?

Okay.....
My buddy has a 1971 Blazer......That I previously owned. When I had it......there was a JC Whitney seat up front. After he got it....he took it out and now were trying to install Bucket seats out of a Blazer that have the same dimensions as the buckets in my 72 Blazer.......(front mounting holes in the seat to the rear of the seat) So......If I were to mount them in my 72.....they'd drop right in. The 71 Blazer holes are the same in the front....but when I go to drop the bolts in the rear holes.......the holes in the floor pan do not match up.....and they are factory holes with threaded inserts....there about two inches further back than seat holes.
I was wondering if the fat-wide bucket seats that were available in our Blazers had a different mounting location than the sport buckets.....That's all.....Thanks.

I am not sure what you have going on with the holes. I measured a 71 and a 72 Blazer bucket seat bracket and the hole spacings front to rear are the same, (12 7/8").
I also measured a truck bench seat bracket and the hole spacings, front to rear was 15 1/4". Jim |

I don't know if bench seats were put in blazers or not. Good question, though. Is the Blazer a two wheel drive?
It seems like in those years you could order most anything, so there always seems to be execptions. Jim |

No bench seats in Blazers. Did you see my post in the Blazer section about the seat adjuster?

They had two passenger seat mountings? And two different sets of passenger seat mounting holes?
