Question Blazer Top Color

I am considering painting my top white. Any opinions on keeping it black or going with white? How about smooth vs rough? I know 1970blazin's white & smooth top looks really sharp.
Thanks for any feedback.

I think it really depends on the blazer. Mine was originally black, and the previous owner painted it blue to match the body.
I think white looks good if you have white letters on the tires, and white or aluminum wheels.....I guess I am just partial to white --- the black tops make the blazer look less "clean" or shiny to me....call me weird!
I think your red looks okay with a black top tho.
About the textured versus smooth...smooth would be either alot of money or lots of time- (I got lucky having a friend who did it for cheap) Also there are some joints that are there for flex, and we filled them when we went smooth, and I am wondering if they are going to crack as time goes on.
What are your other plans for that blazer? Is it staying that color? I like the stance! cool!

The picture was how it looked when I bought it, before I put original spindles on the front to get it up out of the weeds. Of course, with those low profile tires and the @ 2"drop in the back, it does look kinda sick right now. I'm going to replace the rear springs and change the tire size next.

I have replaced the under hood harness, under dash harness, turn signal switch, wiper motor and motor mounts. Swapped over to a 94amp internal regulated alt, installed an HEI, put on a Demon Street carb and installed my factory tach dash.

I have a bunch of other parts waiting and things yet to do. Replace the rear rollpan with a stock bumper, R&R all of the weatherstripping, R&R door hinges, fix the AC(missing underhood stuff), add intermittant wiper controls and change the speedo gear in the 700R4 to match whatever tire size I go to.

I'm looking for a comfortable, dependable and clean ride. I only wish I had shopped around a little more so I could have found an original 2wd for the coil spring rear.

But anyway, thanks for asking and sorry for the longwinded response.

Mine is white, as you can see from my avatar. But I did live in Phoenix and having a black top there was just not an option. I really like the smooth look but it lots of work. If I was going with one color overall it would be smoothed. Also I think the smooth tops look better on 2wd. Just my 2 cents worth.

I think orange and red should have white tops. Some colors need black like my yellow truck.

IMO white looks better with red. I agree with 2wdBlazer- black looks better on yellow. Ochre looks good with black too. But otherwise I think I am partial to white tops.

Depending on the truck, I think it can look good with the top matching the body...

I think those two big orangy Blazers should have white tops. It's gonna be all personal preference on this topic. Those lifted Blazers are just too sweet.

I've seen a few 4x4 Jimmy's that had Black tops that were originally Orange...I think they looked pretty good that way and my guess is they did come from the factory that way?

not trying to steal the thread here , i also love the pic of the blue and white blazer , but what i dont understand is why you would do all that work to make it look that good or spend that much money and not raise the bumper to fill the body lift gap ,, that is one of my biggest pet peaves , i hate it when people do body lifts but leave the bumpers in the stock location ,,ohh yea,, i agree , orange or red i like white , ocre or yellow i like black , bt i have seen some pretty bright blazers with a white top that looked ralllllly good,, i think ifits gonna be a bright color you really need to go with white , if its a darker color i think black or match the body color
