You could find out who owns the property and go from there.

Check with the DMV of your state.A buddy got a bus free. The bus was abandoned in a parking lot.My buddy contacted the owner of the parking lot and asked about the bus.The owner wanted it moved. My buddy moved it and got a salvage title thru the state of TX where he lived. When he completes the renovation and repairs he will have to get a rebuilders title.
You may be able to find the info thru a web search.

bad 71 Chevy
Most states you can find out who the property owner is through the Tax office or online, this is public information. If it is abandoned then the property owner can put a lien on it and then sell it to recover funds. It would be best to find the title through a title search company but that gets kind of expensive. You can also apply for a lost title. My suggestion is to go to the location and have some cash in you wallet where they can see it. Be prepared to take it on the spot or leave if it is unobtainable. Get a signed bill of sale. You can work out the kinks when it is in you possession

if its abandoned you can get a storage lein placed on it and after a few other steps you get the title. using this method my dad got a 76 datson b210,51 buic special and a 1963 cadillac

I actually did this when I lived in NM. Go to the DMV in Aztec and get an abandoned vehicle form. Have the owner of the property fill out his information and remove the vehicle. Renters dont count, only the owner of the actual porperty can sign this. File the paperwork and they will contact the last registered owner. If they do not respond to the form letter sent to them they issue a title to you. If they do and want the truck, you can charge them for removing and storage of the vehicle. Chances are after 5 years they have no interest. There is a 65 extended cab on the road from your house to NM that I have been trying to get for close to 15 years and it is still sitting there today. What a waste.

Travis, I cant tell you exactly but it is only a few miles south of Durango on 550. It is on the right side of the road. If you come to the grange hall and the small trailer park you passed it. Its blue and sits in front of an old barn next to a house with lots of trees in front. Where is the truck your looking at as I have contact in Aztec, Farmington.
