Emergency cables on 14 bolt axle in 72 blazer
Anyone know where I can get custom made emergency brake cables? I have a 1975 14 bolt (3/4 ton) axle in my Blazer and the emergency brake cables are too short on the 14bolt axle and the orginal cables attach to the brake plate differently on each of the axles. I an either try to attach the orginal cables to the 14 bolt or I need to find 3/4 ton cables that are longer.
Thanks Mark |

Inline Tube wanted $80 per side just the other day when I called. I figured I'd keep looking around before I broke down and spent that kind of cash.
Let me know what you end up doing or what you find out. I am still looking for other options myself but to no avail. I'll also keep you posted if I find anything. Good luck! Anyone else have any ideas?

I put a 78/79 14 bolt into my 3/4 ton and I was able to take the original parking brake cables out of the Eaton 3/4 ton axle and use them. They were longer than the ones on the 14 bolt and everything fit from the old axle. I think I've still got the original 14 bolt cables around somewhere. Drop me a line if you can use them.

The Eaton rear end you pulled the cables out of, where did that rear end come from? I'm not sure what 3/4 ton trucks came with a eaton rear.
Thanks Mark |

Pretty much all 3/4 ton trucks of our era have the Eaton. Some came with Dana 60 rears but they aren't as common. I'd bet the cables are the same though in the Dana.

Ok, I went from the original 12 bolt to the corporate 14 bolt full floating axle from like a 75 truck. I not familiar with the 67-72 3/4 ton axles. Maybe I can order a new cable for a 3/4 ton 67-72 truck.
Thanks Mark |

Check around and see if somebody has one in stock and go and look at it before ordering one. If it's wrong you won't be out anything. I sold my 3/4 ton so I can't get you any measurements but maybe someone with a Eaton rear can measure it or take a picture. Try a new post and ask the question. Good luck
