Very nice. I see you don't have your seat backs on yet. I think if you went with the polished aluminum on the seat backs it would look sharp with the polished cage. Maybe even consider a polished dash bezel and matching glove box.

Bouncy- We decieded to go with the stock black seatbacks. Don't make me second guess myself- Ha Ha! Also already bought a stock dash bezel...maybe later we will do all the polished stuff. Today we are painting and putting in the seat backs, gluing down the closed cell foam sound deadner, putting in carpet, bolting down the seats and console! I am getting excited!!! We still have to change out the core support and then put all the front end panels on and the hood. We will get there!

Well here is what we got done this weekend:
1. roll bar all in and caulked. Undercoated the bottom of the blazer around the roll bar plates. 2. Painted the tranny hump and under the dash. 3. Welded up the core support where it was rusted under the battery, and then POR-15 the area. 4. Tapped out all the bolt holes in the interior. 5. Started putting in the power window kits from A-1 electric. Lots more to do, but feel like we are finally making progress |

Wow that looks good I was going to go all out on mine with cloth seats carpet but I know how I am it will ebd up in the mud sooner or later so I went with the ruber floor mats and vinal but I did add power windows and keyless entry. I rilly like the wayyour roll bar looks I have a set of aluminum dash and glove box inserts that would look good with it If they are home made but lazer cut I never polished them up If you want them let me know Ill never use them.

71jimmy --We usually don't get that much done either, but we are selling my daily driver, so this will be the only vehicle I will have to drive around for a while....I am a little scared to be driving this nice of a blazer for a daily driver, but we have to get rid of our other vehicle. I am pretty excited to be making this much progress! Pics to come soon!!!!
Diane P.S. I am still working on AutoCAD drawings of this roll bar...(with a few modifications) if anyone is still interested. modification include: 1. distance between the front loop and back loop will be about 4" shorter. 2. Back loop will match front loop or ??? Any suggestions???? I am up for any advice!! Diane |

The first cage SW sent wasnt the correct cage so I had an extra hoop so what I did was put the one behind the driver then one behind the passenger then the rails down to the sides. I thoght it would be a good shape for a cutsom soft top to be streched over.

Very cool cage!! excellent work!! I have a quick question about your bedliner. If I remember correctly, you POR15'd the floor and then applied the bedliner over top. Did the bedliner adhere to the bed surface ok? I want to do this to my floorboards in my interior and was wondering if you had and problems with it sticking

After the POR-15 dried we ruffed it up with sandpaper, then wiped everything down with tack cloth to get it clean. The Herculiner adhered great. So far so good anyways. It isn't as high quality as getting it done by Rhinoliner, but I think $39.99 as opposed to $500 is a good price difference!
Thanks for all the compliments on the roll cage! Hope to be installing the rest of the interior this weekend. I will post some more pics soon! Diane |
