crossmember
I swapped the front suspension out of my 62 1/2 ton and used a front crossmember from a 75 chevy 1/2 t. It fit pretty well on the frame, but only 6 out of 14 bolt holes lined up. the other holes I had to drill out, it isn't that bad of a job. The 62 frame was about 3/8" shorter (vertical) than the 75 frame but I shimed up the frame to match the height of the crossmember so I could get the top two holes drilled in the frame to bolt it up correctly. I think 73 - to 87 will work for you. Then you also get disc brakes on the front and alot cheaper parts to redo the front suspension. Hope this enough info. for you. Rich

I recently swapped my 62 front suspension for a 64 suspension. None of the holes lined up on the swap most were out 1/4" So i slotted some holes on the frame and some on the front crossmember and it fit not to bad. I also have a 73-87 front crossmember i was considering but alot of holes or all of them not sure won't line up either, plus i still wanted to keep the 4 way drum brakes.
