Question Will a 66 lwb body mount on a 83 lwb frame??

Hello, I have a question for all ya'll 60-66 truck lovers. I'm in the middle of doing a cab-bed swap on an 82 and 83. Both are lwb and should be no problem. I was talking to a guy at work, he has a well worn 66 LWB that he loves, I mentioned that I would be selling or scraping a 83 C-10 lwb frame, we thought if they would swap, I could sell it to him. I read that a short wheel base is "off" by a few inches, but what about the lwb? I don't think he would want to cut and weld the frame sections together, so I was hopeing the body would just bolt on with few modifications. Any help on this would be great. Thanks, David

With enough money $$$$$$$ and a big hammer, one can make anything fit anywhere. But, my question is: Why?

66 lwb body on newer frame

For what it's worth, I'm going to look at a truck tomorrow, it's a 66 body on a 72 K20 frame and from what my dad told me even the body mounts look like they lined up. You may have an easier time just finding a suitable 67-72 c10 frame to swap it on to. Good luck!

Thanks for all of the answers posted. I think it will be too much modification for my friend to do. I was hopeing that it would be a bolt on, with very few mods kind of swap. I'm now trying to sell this frame to a fellow board member, for a 65 project. I think he could do whatever is needed for the swap. Still working on my swap, I've got the "re-done" 83 cab almost ready. Monday I start taking apart the 82 C-20. Thanks again, David
